A possible increase in the prices of goods has surfaced as global markets face the effects of Covid-19.

The National Welfare Officer of the Ghana Union of Traders Association, GUTA, Benjamin Yeboah says the restrictions on travel will hinder members from securing new goods to stock their shops.

He said the travel and trade sectors have been hard hit.

Meanwhile, a crunch meeting has been convened by health authorities to assess preparations towards handling a possible outbreak of the coronavirus.

The meeting which was held at the various levels of the Ghana Health Service follows President Akufo-Addo’s ban on non- essential travels to avoid a possible outbreak.

Speaking on GBC’s current affairs programme, ‘Behind the News’, the Director of Public Health at the GHS, Dr Badu Sakordie reiterated that so far the 42 suspected cases recorded are all negative. He said though some vaccines have been discovered, they are yet to be tested on humans.
