In a written statement, Xi extended greetings and best wishes to the Egyptian government and people on behalf of the Chinese government and people, highlighting the long-standing friendship and cooperation between the two ancient civilizations.
He noted that over the 70-years of diplomatic relations, China and Egypt have maintained strong political trust, expanded mutually beneficial cooperation and strengthened coordination on international and regional issues.
President Xi said he would hold in-depth talks with El-Sisi on bilateral relations, broader cooperation and international and regional issues of mutual concern,with the aim of charting a new course for the strategic partnership and opening a new chapter in China-Egypt friendship.
