Kenya president back down on tax cut

Kenya’s President, Uhuru Kenyatta has agreed to reduce an unpopular fuel tax which caused strikes and widespread anger amongst the populace, when it came into force earlier in the month.
In a speech to the nation, the President proposed to halve the levy to 8 percent.
Mr. Kenyatta said he had listened to the concerns of Kenyans, over rising prices and agreed to reduce it.
