Kumasi prepares for royal visit of King of Eswatini

The Head of State and King of the Kingdom of Eswatini, King Mswati III is to undertake a four-day Royal visit to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu in the Ashanti region from the 24th to 28th of this month. 

The visit is to help strengthen the existing royal relationship between the two traditional leaders. 

As part of preparations toward the visit, th Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, KMA has scheduled a city-wide clean up exercise in Kumasi on Saturday, the 21st of this month. 

In a statement issued by the Public Relations Unit of the Assembly, the KMA explained that the environmental campaign is to ensure the city of Kumasi is kept clean conducive for the Royal visit. 

It has therefore entreated all businesses and shops operating from the central business district of Adum to close from 6 am to 12 am Saturday while urging residents, businesses and others in the Ashanti Regional capital to fully participate in the clean up exercise to ensure that, it achieved the intended purpose. 

The Kingdom of Eswatini has in recent times shown solidarity with Asanteman in both times of celebration and grief. 

The Prime Minister of Eswatini, previously called Swaziland, together with some representatives of the King graced to climax of the commemoration of 25 years of the coronation of Otumfuo Osei Tutu as Asantehene. 

There was also a three-member delegation of that Kingdom to mourn with the chiefs of Asante Mampong during the entire three days of the ‘D)te Yie’ or customary and traditional burial rite for the late Mamponhene, Dasebre Osei Bonsu II.
