Opposition parties in Zambia have accused President Edgar Lungu of presiding over political violence against his rivals, and intend to report him to the International Criminal Court.
At a news conference in the capital, Lusaka, ten opposition politicians accused President Lungu and Zambia’s Home Affairs Minister, Stephen Kampyongo, of ordering militias to attack the opposition during recent by-election campaigns.
No one from the governing party has responded to the allegations.
