The Ghanaian Times Shares the view that as a country, there is the need to strengthen resilience against disasters through an effective disaster risk governance regime. It says human beings are always at the centre of disaster as poor vulnerable communities suffer the most thereby affecting the economy and environment. The paper believes that perennial disasters such as floods are largely caused by human factors such as building on water ways. It is at this fact that, the paper is asking Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies not to compromise on the protection of the environment and property by issuing permits to only people seeking to build at authorized places.

The Daily Heritage Is concerned about the plight of Nursing Trainees who are expecting promised allowances from the government to enable them pay for their school fees. The paper believes that we are not in normal times and therefore proper measures should be adopted by government to mitigate the harsh financial state of nursing students by releasing the remaining four months’ allowance to enable them to afford their basic needs.
