The two national dailies, the Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times write of the Abrogation of PDS contract by government and the way forward.

The Daily Graphic expects the government to find a replacement for PDS in due time to end what the paper describes as a regrettable chapter in the annals of the country. It is hopeful experiences learnt from the deal will serve as a learning point for government in future to avoid repeating such mistakes. It calls on Ghanaians to stand firm with government in these trying times as efforts are made to protect state assets.

The Ghanaian Times is of the view that the announcement of government’s decision to terminate its concession agreement with PDS is in the larger interest of the country. The announcement has  ruffled a lot of feathers all over with several stakeholders expressing divergent views on the decision. The Paper believes that the President as he has demonstrated over time must seize the opportunity and rally the support of all Ghanaians irrespective of their opinion to chart a new course for the Electricity Company of Ghana.
