The Daily Graphic recalls malaria preventive measures rolled out in the past years and the impressive decline of malaria mortality recorded. The paper mentions the Roll Back Malaria initiative back in 2003, the Intermittent Preventive Treatment and the distribution of Artemisinin-based Combination Treatment ACT, whose prompt access reduced malaria attributable mortality from 19 percent in 2010 to 4.6 percent in 2016. As a new initiative to vaccinate children between six months and two years in the selected districts in four regions where malaria prevalence is high, the paper appeals to the health authorities to team up with the media to educate the people on the programme and publicise it, so that they appreciate the importance for it to be rolled out smoothly.

The Ghanaian Times believes that many countries are facing huge unemployment and other economic challenges now than ever before due to lack of job opportunities. A World Banks report indicates that women entrepreneurs constitute about 42 percent of Africa’s population and are capable of creating more jobs. Unfortunately, these entrepreneurs are faced with several challenges that inhibit their capabilities to build and grow businesses to compete favourably with their male counterparts. The Times therefore calls on African governments to initiate policies and programmes that will remove barriers impeding the growth of businesses belonging to women. The paper is of the view that, supporting women entrepreneurs to create jobs for the continent’s teeming youth is in its interest
