The Ghanaian Times joins Ghanaians in celebrating 62-years of emancipation from British colonial rule today. The paper calls on government to use the occasion as an opportunity to reflect on the spate of violence that has plunged the country into a state of insecurity and find ways to tackle them. Commenting on the relocation of the National Independence Day parade to Tamale, the Times says residents in the area have every reason to celebrate peace in the north after the long years of conflict.
