On the occasion of World Teachers day, the Daily Graphic congratulates teachers who continue to make a difference in the lives of children. The paper urges government to pay attention to teachers as they are critical in national development. The Graphic commends government for rebranding the award to give it international recognition as a standard which has witnessed Ghana’s representation at the Global Teachers Prize consecutively. The paper believes it is a motivation as teachers offer their best and exhibit professionalism. The Graphic applauds the business community for their loyalty and commitment in supporting government to sponsor the teacher’s prize.

The Daily Heritage supports calls by concerned tertiary students of the Ghana Institute of Journalism appealing to management of tertiary institutions to rescind their decision on fee increment for the 2020/2021 academic year.  This because the last semester of the previous academic year was truncated due to the COVID-19 pandemic and as a result, tertiary students did not fully benefit from the fees they paid in the 2019/2020 academic year. The paper appreciates the enormity of the financial challenge that government is facing following the pandemic. It however does not believe that if it makes commitment to support tertiary institutions to reduce school fees, it will throw the Coronavirus Alleviation Programme out of gear.
