The Daily Graphic sees the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), Housing Scheme as a great idea. It says the advice by an Economist, Kwame Pianim to GNAT to prioritise housing for its members to help them when they retire could not have come at a better time. The Graphic commends GNAT for this initiative and says it is worth emulating.

The Ghanaian Times calls on government to address the security concerns of Pantang Hospital workers. The Paper says it is unfortunate workers of the Hospital are on an indefinite strike resulting in the closure of the facility. This is because the workers say they are tired of living under constant threat to their lives due to activities of land guards on a parcel of land amid periodic gunshots and rampant robberies and attacks on them as well as encroachment on the hospital’s lands. The Times is therefore appalled by government’s failure to heed their calls to fence the Hospital to protect its staff since 2013. It is also intrigued that the Ministry of Health is instructing the staff to return to work immediately because the contractors of the fence may have been asked to resume work. The Times says the firefighting approach to addressing problems whose solutions have significant impact on lives and the development of the country must stop.
