The Daily Graphic finds it satisfying that the focus of the Ghana Tourism Authority is on harnessing domestic tourism by launching an 18 month Campaign to shore up the sector’s fortunes instead of depending on foreign tourists.  It says encouraging domestic tourism will help Ghanaians find it attractive to visit places of interest, even if they are not in their regions.  In the Paper’s view, this is only way Ghana can reach the target for the Domestic and Regional Tourism Programme to increase arrivals to six hundred thousand by 2022 and one million by the end of 2024.  The Graphic therefore suggests government makes deliberate investment to shore up domestic tourism while bringing on board private sector players to make visiting tourist sites fun and not laborious or a turn off.

The Ghanaian Times says tackling water and sanitation issues demands urgency and speed. It says Ghana loses over 290 million dollars yearly for not paying adequate attention to sanitation issues. The Paper is appalled that 34 per cent of Ghanaians still use public toilets, coupled with the practice of open defecation which is not helping the attainment of the sixth Sustainable Development Goal which focuses on clean water and sanitation for all by 2030.The Times says although government is making effort in the water and sanitation sector, life without water can eventually result in the annihilation of people, thus every effort in the sector must be treated with the sense of urgency by speeding up all related projects.
