The Ghanaian Times lauds the Minister of Roads and Highways Kwesi Amoako-Atta, for directing the Ghana Highways Authority to remove all illegal speed humps mounted by communities along highways. The paper however brings to the attention of the Minister that community members do not construct such “illegal’’ humps out of pleasure but due to the fact that some drivers ignore road safety measures and over-speed. It says there have been numerous stories of speeding drivers killing some community members and going scot-free. The Times says it is undisputable that driver misbehavior forms the greatest percentage of cases of road accidents, as such, it calls on the appropriate authorities to be up to the task to ensure sanity on the roads.
