The Daily Graphic supports calls for the prosecution of procurement officers in Ministries, Departments and Agencies who cause financial loss to the state. It, believes that while this is being done, it is important to consider building their capacity. The paper says breaches of the procurement Act, Act 633, of the procurement law 2003 cannot only be attributed to corruption but competency, considering the fact that some workers in the public sector who are responsible for procurement are not proficient. The Graphic therefore suggests that capacity building programmes be organised for these professionals to enhance their knowledge in basic standards of tendering and contractual procedures.

The Ghanaian Times calls on both government and the opposition to act in the best interest of the public. It says the Minority in Parliament have raised issues with Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia’s assertion that all mobile phone users would be required to re-register their SIM cards. The Minority explained that the mandatory re-registration of Sims would provide no substantial benefit in the fight against electronic money fraud but rather create challenges especially for inbound travelers who require a SIM card. The paper notes that  both the government and Minority seek the interest of the masses. It therefore appeals to both parties to consult each other on pertinent national issues to come out with a mutually accepted solution.
