The 2019 Akuapem Odwira festival which comes off September 15 to 22, has been launched in Accra..

The  Odwira festival is aimed at bringing people, families together. It also  a  period  for stock-taking and merry making.

The Odwira festival is also marked with various activities such as the-enactment of historical events.

These activists afford people the opportunity to forgive and unite with one another.

It’s also to discuss challenges the community is confronted with and help provide solutions them.

The MCE for Akuapem North in the Eastern region has indicated that the 2019, Odwira festival  would far outweigh  previous ones due to adequate preparations ahead of the festival.

“it’s going to be extraordinary, we are ready to receive tens and thousands of people who usually come to celebrate with us at Akuapem on such occasions”. He noted.

The MCE assured Ghanaians of the communitie’s readiness  to provide security to all vistors who will go for the celebrations.

“There will be adequate security team comprising the BNI, the police, NADMO among others who would support us in this festive season”.he said.

The state secretary of Akuapeman, Opanin Kwesi Bekoe in an interview with a section of journalist advised people especially the youth not to engage in activities that has the tendency to mar the beauty of the festival.

He said “People can have  lots of fun they want but they should not expose themselves unnecessarily to negative things.They should come and have fun but should avoid unnecessary  exposure of themselves. Everything they do should be minimised, for example eating, drinking, etc. so that you can all bring honour to your yourself, mother Ghana and the Akuapem people”.
