Bessa, who is the first Vice President of the Union in an interview said that even though he is planning to take over from the current President, Bice Osei Kuffour, he is yet to officially communicate his decision.

“I will come out soon to announce my intent once the broad consultation I am making ends soon. MUSIGA is a great union and having served as its 1st vice chair I have a very good appreciation of what the challenges and opportunities are,” he said.

The musicians’ union will be going to the polls on June 26, 2019, to elect new executives.

Bessa has worked with some great names such as Pat Thomas, Papa Yankson, Osibisa, C.K. Mann, Ebo Taylor, Gyedu Blay Ambolley, among others.

Before he became the 1st Vice President, he was the 2nd Vice President of the union.

However, information gathered indicates that Ras Caleb Appiah who is the Chairman for the Greater Accra chapter of MUSIGA will also be contesting for the presidency.

Earlier, names like Richie Mensah, Samini, EL, had been mentioned by people in the entertainment industry as musicians who had the potential to handle the position.
