As Ghana marks, ‘The year of return’, the Tourism Ministry is collaborating with Cuba’s legendary artist Alberto Leesky to design sculpture works of Ghanaian leaders and ancestors who were involved in slavery 400 years ago.

This partnership will provide networking opportunities for young Ghanaian artists and also tell Ghana’s stories to the diaspora through paintings, sculpture works and other forms of the arts.

At a news conference in Accra, the legendary artist displayed some of his work, promising to train and nurture the development of sculpture in Ghana.

Cuba’s Ambassador to Ghana, Mr Pedro Luis Despaigne Gonzalez said the year of return helps deepen the relations between the two countries.
