American actress and author, Gabrielle Union and her husband, Dwayne Wade have welcomed a baby girl through a surrogate.
The 46-year-old shared the news on social media with adorable photos of her and basketball player husband holding their first baby together.
She wrote: “A lovely day. We are sleepless and delirious but so excited to share that our miracle baby arrived last night via surrogate and 11/7 will forever be etched in our hearts as the loveliest of all the lovely days.
Union also quoted lyrics from Bill Withers’ “Lovely Day” in her caption.
Over the years, the actress and her husband had struggled to conceive.

Union opened up about her struggle to have a baby in her book: “We’re going to need more wine”, which was published last year.
In the book, she wrote that she had experienced several miscarriages.
“For three years, my body has been a prisoner of trying to get pregnant — I’ve either been about to go into an IVF cycle, in the middle of an IVF cycle, or coming out of an IVF cycle.”
She added that she and Wade, whom she married in 2014, “remain bursting with love and ready to do anything to meet the child we’ve both dreamed of.”
This is Gabrielle’s first child and Dwyane’s fourth. The baby will join three other siblings, Zaire, Xavier and Zion.
The name of the baby has not been revealed.
