Ghana has accepted an invitation to serve as Guest Country at Burkina Faso’s 22nd National Culture Week, scheduled to take place in Bobo-Dioulasso from 22 April to 2 May 2026.

The invitation was extended by Burkina Faso’s Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, Gilbert Noël Ouédraogo, who led a delegation to Ghana. He was accompanied by Burkina Faso’s Ambassador to Ghana, David Kabré.

Receiving the delegation, the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to cultural diplomacy and strengthening long-standing ties between the two countries.

She said Ghana’s participation in the festival would create opportunities for young creatives, broaden exhibition platforms, and promote commercial exchange within the creative arts sector.

The 22nd National Culture Week will feature cultural performances, a community village and gastronomy fair, an arts market, literary activities, and a craft and trade fair.

Ghana’s participation is expected to consolidate bilateral relations between President John Dramani Mahama and President Ibrahim Traoré, while enhancing collaboration within the creative ecosystems of both nations.
