Award-winning playwright Latif Abubakar has rewarded the wife of the most hardworking cast member in his stage production, The Second Coming of Nkrumah, with a fully funded stay at a hotel of her choice.

The cast member, McPratt Dadzie, known by his stage name Atongo, impressed audiences with his outstanding performance in the play. His comic role drew laughter and kept patrons eagerly anticipating his appearances on stage.

Mr Abubakar explained that Atongo had married just two days before the scheduled performance of the play. Despite being heavily involved in wedding preparations, he consistently attended rehearsals and remained committed to the production.

To show appreciation to Atongo’s newly married wife for her support and understanding, Mr Abubakar said he decided to sponsor a one-night stay at any hotel of her choice for the couple, as compensation for the time Atongo devoted to rehearsals and performances.

The Second Coming of Nkrumah, written and produced by Latif Abubakar, premiered on December 29, 2025, as part of the African Festival.
