The woman who paid R Kelly’s $100,000 bail was the target of a fake bomb threat over the weekend.

Chicago resident Valencia P. Love, who said she is a friend of Kelly’s, posted 10 percent of the singer’s $1 million bail needed for his release as he pleaded not guilty to 10 charges of sexual abuse.

Just days after she forked out the cash, CBS Chicago reporter Brad Edwards said a local daycare centre that Love is ‘connected to’, received multiple bomb threats.

The worrying tweet read: ‘Saturday, multiple people called in a bomb threat to a daycare near W. 79th & Kedzie.

The business is connected to the woman who posted R. Kelly’s $100k bond. ‘PER CPD – “No offender in custody. Bomb and arson cleared the scene. Area Central investigating.”‘

TMZ later confirmed police didn’t find an explosive at the daycare centre and the calls were fake. After posting Kelly’s bail, Love, 47, released a statement to Fox News reporter Tia Ewing defending the singer.

‘I’m not going to say it was my money or his money and he’s not broke. He was going to post bond by Thursday anyway,’ she said. ‘He’s my friend and I knew he needed help.

There are three sides to every story, his side, there’s [the alleged victims], and the truth.’

She went on: ‘I can’t say they’re lying [the girls/young ladies]. It wasn’t my money, I’m not going to say whose money it is.

I don’t condone any man sodomizing anyone or abusing a woman.

‘He told me he was innocent, if he did it he is wrong. If he did it that’s wrong. He’s telling me he’s innocent. I wasn’t there, you [Tia Ewing] wasn’t there, give him the chance and allow him to prove his innocence.’

The 52-year-old singer, real name Robert Sylvester Kelly, was released from custody after pleading not guilty to 10 charges of sexual abuse.

Prosecutors are charging Kelly with 10 incidents of aggravated criminal sexual abuse on four victims, three of which were underage at the time.

He is due to appear in court on the charges later this month. If convicted, he could receive a sentence of up to 70 years in jail.

Attorney Michael Avenatti has worked closely in the case against the star, and has confirmed he’s handing over a sex tape that allegedly shows Kelly performing sexual acts with a 14-year-old to the prosecution.

R Kelly has continued to deny all of the charges made against him, and his lawyer Steven Greenberg insisted in a statement that the ‘accusers were mistakenly coached into believing they were victims’.
