American rapper Meek Mill has topped headlines in Ghana over a music video he posted on his social media page, which triggered a backlash from many Ghanaians, forcing him to pull down the video.
The viral music video captured the entrance of Ghana’s seat of government, Jubilee House, down to the hallway, where he was seen rapping from the lectern with a badge that read, “Presidency”.
There were drone shots of other areas of the Jubilee House.
But “Dancehall King” hitmaker, Shatta Wale has come out to support the Philly star.
He lashed out at Ghanaians for attacking the American rapper.
“You say a year of return and your black brother comes to shoot video as he returns home you bore…”, he said in one of his tweets.
He also charged Ghanaians to channel their anger towards more pertinent issues.
However, Meek Mill has since apologised to Ghanaians.
“My apologies to the people if any disrespect! We still gonna push to make the connection between black people in America and Africa … what I’m trying to do is more than a video and you should see coming soon! My apologies to the office also,” he said.
