Ghanaian Musician Shatta Wale narrowly escaped arrest following a bench warrant issued by a magistrate court in the case of offensive conduct during the last VGMA awards.

His lawyer arrived just on time to plead with the court to rescind its earlier decision.

Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy are standing trial for offensive misconduct during the last edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards where stonebwoy pulled a gun on stage.

The court presided over by Isaac Addo earlier issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Shatta Wale upon a plea from the prosecutor.

Superintendent Emelia Asante said the accused person was delaying the trial due to his continuous absence from court.

She said her first witness has a tight schedule but has managed to come to court only for the case to be adjourned.

The lawyer for Shatta Wale promised to ensure that his client is present on the next adjournment.

Meanwhile, Stonebwoy was present in court and his lawyer prayed the court to tamper justice with mercy and rescind its earlier decision.

The Magistrate subsequently rescinded his decision and adjourned the case. He, however, warned the Lawyer to produce his client in court at the next sitting.

The next hearing is on the 4th of November, 2019.
