Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has called on local and international investors to explore opportunities in Ghana’s tourism, hospitality, fashion and creative industries, saying the government is committed to creating a business-friendly environment and positioning the country as West Africa’s preferred destination for tourism and cultural investment.

Speaking in an interview with the Regional Director of One World Media USA Today, Clementine Hazeran, Gomashie said Ghana offers significant investment opportunities and assured prospective investors of government support to help them establish and expand their businesses.

She said developing more hotels and establishing a world-class tourism and hospitality training institution remain key priorities for the ministry as it seeks to strengthen the country’s tourism sector and improve service delivery.

The Minister also encouraged Ghanaians, particularly the middle class, to invest in domestic tourism by participating in organised tours and travel experiences.

“Well-meaning Ghanaians should invest in Ghana,” she said, adding that government is also looking to attract foreign investors to support the growth of the country’s tourism and creative economy.

Gomashie described Ghana’s hotel industry as an area with enormous growth potential and invited both local entrepreneurs and international hospitality brands to establish a stronger presence in the country.

She also encouraged global and local fashion brands to invest in Ghana, describing the country as an emerging fashion hub with a rich cultural heritage, talented designers and a growing consumer market.

The Minister further called on international streaming platforms, music production companies and recording studios to invest in Ghana’s creative sector, noting that Ghanaian musicians, filmmakers and other creative talents are gaining increasing recognition on the global stage.

According to her, government remains committed to using tourism, culture and the creative arts as key drivers of economic growth, job creation and sustainable national development.

She said the vision is to position Ghana as Africa’s gateway for heritage tourism, culture, business and investment.

Clementine Hazeran commended Ghana’s hospitality, describing the warmth and friendliness of its people as qualities that make the country an attractive destination for both tourists and investors.
