Node Eight in collaboration with LoveAid Foundation, Ghana Education Service, and the Ho Municipal Assembly, will launch on December 16, 2023, a trailblazing event for young people dubbed “Young and Loud Festival” at the Mawuli School in Ho, the Volta Regional Capital.

The festival will harness the creative prowess of young visionaries, empowering them in a manner that will safeguard their well-being through art, music, technology, and interactive experiences.

The Young and Loud Festival is an initiative of the Young and Safe project aimed at addressing pertinent issues facing young people in the Ho Municipality, such as youth participation in city governance, sexual and reproductive health, mental health support, creative self-expression, and digital employment opportunities, among others.

The festival will take two forms: a street competition specifically for artworks, live performances, and interactive exhibitions, and a boot camp which will provide an avenue for mentorship, showcasing talents, and Inspiring Innovation.

One of Ghana’s most influential rappers and Hip-hop/ Hiplife sensation from Aflao, Keeny Ice, will grace the occasion. Other performing artistes include Tuf B, AfroKhelly, Keli Yong, and Dzidegh.

The Young and Safe project is a three-year project that aims at developing an inclusive and supportive community for young people in Ho.

This is under the auspices of the Digital Innovation Hub in the Volta Region, Node Eight, in partnership with the Ho Municipal Assembly, LoveAid Foundation, and Ghana Education Service, supported by Fondation Botnar through the Healthy Cities for Adolescents Program (HCA-||), managed by Ecorys UK.
