President Akufo-Addo has announced that fourteen thousand, five hundred and twenty-four (14,524) Nurse Assistants (Clinical and Preventive) will be recruited this month (February, 2019) to augment the efforts of clinical staff in the health sector.
He said these nurse assistants belong to the tranche that passed their exams in 2016 from Government Health Training Institutions, and have commenced work by 1st February, 2019.
President Akufo-Addo noted that the Ministry of Health has received the financial clearance to that effect.
The President said this today, when he delivered his State of the Nation Address in accordance with Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana which states: “The President shall, at the beginning of each session of Parliament and before dissolution of Parliament, deliver a message on the state of the nation.”
The 2019 delivery is the third since the Akufo-Addo led government regained power to manage the country.
