The Auditor General, Daniel Dormelevo has announced plans to begin the auditing of construction projects in Ghana.

The move is to ensure that government gets value for money in the construction of roads and other public buildings.

Launching the 2018 Audits in Accra, Mr. Domelevo noted that reports have revealed that the cost of majority of roads and buildings constructed in the country do not correspond with the standard and nature of the said roads and structures.

The Auditor-General said the exercise has become necessary due to the bloating of budget in the road sector.

On the ongoing government payroll audit, Mr. Domelevo explained that although many infractions have been detected, due process must be followed.
