The Auditor-General, Daniel Domelevo, has cast doubts on the Special Prosecutor’s capability to deliver on his mandate.

Mr. Domelevo said although Martin Amidu is ready to fight corruption in the public sector, he is not impressed with the current set up of the Special Prosecutor’s Office (OSP).

Mr. Domelevo said the Auditor General’s collaboration with the Office of the Special Prosecutor, OSP, can bring about the deterrence that is required in the public sector.

Mr. Domelevo asked that the public visit with the OSP to understand his challenges adding that the Special Prosecutor is not sitting well at all and there is no way he can be effective where he is seated.

Speaking at a public lecture to commemorate the 3rd Kwadwo Baah Wiredu Memorial Lecture, Mr. Domelevo revealed that the newly created OSP is fraught with numerous challenges.

He however lauded President Akufo Addo for establishing the Officer headed by an anti-corruption campaigner, Martin Amidu.
