The panic among people over the Coronavirus pandemic has shot up demand for hand sanitisers in medical shops, super markets, departmental stores and provision stores. The prices of sanitizers have more than doubled with people cashing in on the sale of the product.
As a result of the high demand of sanitisers, the market is flooded with fake sanitisers.
Some vendors are deceitfully selling perfumes, petrol, bitters and other cosmetics to the public as alcohol based sanitizers. An eyewitness who experienced one such case spoke to Radio Ghana on the issue.
