Black Volta bridge at Bamboi closes today

The Ministry of Road and Highways says the bridge over the Black Volta at Bamboi in the Northern Region will be closed to vehicular traffic for a period of seven days for repair works.
A statement by the Ministry says the bridge will be closed today (September 20) at 6pm and re-open next week 27th of September at 6 am.
The Black Volta Bridge at Bamboi is on the Wenchi Bamboi section of the N12.
It has become necessary to close the bridge to enable the Bridge Maintenance Unit of the Ghana Highway Authority to repair defects on it.
Alternative routes for vehicles travelling to and from the North on the N12 are: Techiman – Wenchi – Tingakrom – Banda Ahenkro- Bui-BandaNkwanta/Teselima as well as Techiman – Kintampo- Fufulso Junction- Sawla – Wa.
The statement advises motorists to adhere to directional and safety signs that will be placed at appropriate sections of the road.
The Ministry entreats the public to bear with it as it carries out this necessary repair works.
