There have been calls for the review of the Single Spine Salary Policy to benefit low income earners in the Public Service.
According to the General Secretary of Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), David Ofori Acheampong, basic salaries of some government workers under the pay policy remain insignificant, hence the need for an increment.
Mr. Acheampong urged government to constitute a committee of relevant stakeholders to undertake the review.
Touching on the theme for this year’s (2019) May Day, “Sustainable Pension for all” Mr. Acheampong said the pension scheme should be well addressed to help workers when they go on retirement.
