The number of positive COVID-19 cases now stands at 641 after five new cases were recorded.

According to the Ghana Health Service (GHS), more than 50,700 persons have been tested for the virus.

Of the 641 positive cases, 17 have been treated and discharged, 66 have tested negative once and are awaiting a second test. 548 cases have been categorized as mild disease and are on treatment.

No one is in critical condition and the number of fatalities remains eight.

The five new cases were recorded from the Adentan, Ayawaso East and Ayawaso Central Municipalities, all of the Greater Accra region.

With the exception of one of the cases from Ayawaso East, all the new cases are asymptomatic, which means carriers show NO symptoms.

Also, contacts for the new cases are being listed for follow up.
