President Akufo-Addo has promised to leave a legacy of peace and progress for the coming generation. He has therefore admonished his appointees to cultivate the spirit of sacrifice that their forebears cultivated.

Speaking during this year’s Eid al-Adha in Accra, President Akufo-Addo said his government will pursue a policy of social inclusion and create equal opportunities for all.

Muslims around the world are today celebrating Eid-ul Adha, a festival of sacrifice which seeks to honor Ibrahim who in an act of obedience attempted to sacrifice his son.

President Akufo-Addo also asked Ghanaian Muslims to use the occasion of Eid-ul Adha to reflect on the virtues and values for which the festival is celebrated. The President admonished Muslims not see the festival as a mere ritual.

The President again pledged to implement fully the recommendation of the committee setup to investigate the Asawase shooting incident.

President Akufo-Addo said government will sustain religious harmony in Ghana.
