The delay and cumbersome processes in the acquisition of Passport will soon be a thing of the past with the coming on-stream of purchasing of Passport forms online from next month (November).

This follows a directive by the Passport Office to use technology to reduce the stress on individuals who apply for Passports.

Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, who announced this at the UK-Ghana Investment Summit in Accra said the issuing of National ID cards for the general public, will reduce the long queues witnessed at the passport office as the biometric data of Ghanaians will already be captured on the card for easy identification.

Vice President Bawumia told investors at the summit that the ongoing digitisation agenda of government is aimed at transforming and modernising the economy.
