Ghana confirms first two cases of Coronavirus

The Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced that two cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Ghana.

The Health Minister, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu made this known at an emergency press briefing organized by the Information ministry.

The two individuals are from Norway and Turkey.

According to the Health Minister, the two cases tested positive after laboratory tests from the Noguchi Memorial Institute of Medical Research.

The two are the first cases of the COVID-19 to test positive in Ghana after some 57 cases earlier proved negative.

Mr. Agyemang Manu said the Ministry is committed to making sure the cases are contained.

The Minister called on Ghanaians to adhere to precautionary measures put in place by the Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service, in order to be safe.
