Government committed to building society of inclusion – VEEP

Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia says all policies rolled out by government re-affirm its commitment to build an all inclusive society and country.

He said although there are some challenges, government is poised to build an economy that Ghanaians and the world at large will be proud of.

He stressed that initiatives such as the Free Senior High School (SHS) and Nation Builders Corps, NaBCo have not only given the less privileged the opportunity to be in school but also created jobs for the youth.

Vice President Bawumia made these remarks when he joined the Muslim faithful at the Abossey Okai Central Mosque to give thanks to Allah as part of activities to mark Ghana’s 62nd Independence Day.

The first Friday of March every year is dedicated to muslim intercessory prayers for the country as part of activities marking the country’s Independence day celebrations.

Vice President Bawumia said the peaceful co-existence among all religious bodies in the country is the envy of many across the sub-region and Ghana cannot afford to lose it.

He stressed the need for all especially Muslims to continue to pray for the nation as government on its part work to grow the economy.
Vice President Bawumia said government will not leave anyone behind in the development process adding that the decision to host the 62nd Independence Day celebration is part of efforts to promote unity and peace in the country.
The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharabutu led prayers pray for the country.
The Vice President was accompanied by a Minister of state in his Office , Boniface Abubakar Saddique among other dignitaries.
