The Ministry of Health says government would do due diligence in the posting of nurses to work abroad, if agreement with partner countries is officially cemented.
The government recently announced of future plans to export Ghanaian nurses abroad, arguing that the move is in tandem with the vision to create more job opportunities for the health professionals in foreign countries.
Health Minister, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, who was addressing staff and students of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Nursing and Midwifery Training College, hinted that currently, there are about ninety nursing and midwifery training institutions in the country.
The Minister is in the Ashanti Region on a four-day working visit to keep abreast of health development projects and programmes, as well as related challenges.
Mr. Agyemang-Manu urged health workers to be committed to duty adding that government would continue to work assiduously to improve their living conditions.
