Former President John Dramani Mahama says after broad consultation with the rank and file of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), he is better prepared to lead the party to victory in 2020.
He said the party has learnt lessons from the 2016 defeat and will address the issues that caused their defeat.
Mr. Mahama was speaking at a news conference in Accra after submitting his nomination forms to the NDC leadership.
He said he will work with the party structures to reclaim power and bring hope to Ghanaians by providing jobs and reduce the high cost of living. Mr. Mahama said those who express misgivings about his decision to seek a second term should not doubt his ability because he is ready to prove himself.
