The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has named Nalerigu as the Regional capital of the newly created North East Region with the Northern Regional Minister Salifu Saeed acting as the care taker of the new region until a substantive Minister is appointed.
President Akufo-Addo said this during the presentation of the Constitutional Instrument, (CI) to the chiefs and the people of the new Region at the Jubilee House today.
He mentioned that government will make sure that the desire for the growth and progress of the new Region is met.
He therefore assured the Chiefs and the people of the new Region that government projects and structures will be equally spread across the Region.
The spokesperson of the Nayiri – Overlord of Mamprugu, Naa Bohagu Mahami Abdulai Sheriga commended the President of his hard work in creating the new region.
