The personal Physician to the President, Dr. Patrina Takyi-Ankrah says President Akufo-Addo has tested negative for Coronavirus.
Dr. Patrina Takyi-Ankrah said this at a press briefing organised by the Ministry of Information on the COVID-19 update on Wednesday, April 1.
She said the Vice President, as well as other top government officials, have also taken the test and have all tested negative.
Dr. Takyi Ankrah said close family relations of the President have also been tested and in all 99 staff at the presidency have all been tested and have been confirmed negative.
They underwent mandatory testing a day before and after the President’s 76th birthday.
“A day before the birthday of the President, we tested him, the first lady, his daughters and all the staff, all his household and then I’m happy to announce that all of them tested negative. A day after his birthday, we continued to test people in the secretariat including myself because we tend to deal with him on a one-to-one basis, as I speak now, a total of 99 people have been tested and the results have come back negative” Dr. Patrina Takyi-Ankrah.
