Rent advance in the newly created Western-North region has drastically gone up since the creation of the region.
This has made living difficult, especially for workers who have been posted to the new coordinating council.
Deputy Regional Minister Alex Tetteh who confirmed this to GBC’s Ibrahim Kwarteng on news and current affairs programme ‘Behind the News’ on Uniiq FM said a four bedroom apartment which was initially one thousand Ghana cedis (GHC 1000) has now risen to two thousand Ghana cedis (GHC 2000).
Mr. Tetteh said talks with Chiefs in the area are underway to address the matter.
