Africa School Feeding Day has been marked in Ghana, with a call on District Assemblies to desist from adding fresh schools to the list of beneficiary schools without recourse to the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP).
The National Coordinator of the GSFP, Gertrude Quashigah, who made the call, said such unauthorized additions only cause problems, since they are not covered by the budget at any given time.
Madam Quashigah was speaking at the National Celebration of Africa School Feeding Day which took the form of a Durbar at Nkonsia in the Wenchi Municipality of the Bono Region.
The celebration was spearheaded by the Ghana School Feeding Programme in collaboration with the World Food Programme.
