There is always something about this snack which is so irresistible that it makes you yearn to gobble just one more serving. ‘Kosua ne m3ko’ or egg and pepper is just as the name implies – a boiled egg cut in half with freshly ground red pepper sauce slapped right in the middle. Let’s tease your taste buds with this simple yet finger-licking snack, on CHOPOLOGY.

An egg a day keeps the doctor away – so as the name implies, this irresistible snack with egg as the main ingredient is just as the doctor ordered. The adage is apt as researchers suggest eggs are a great source of heart-healthy nutrients like potassium, folate and B vitamins. Eggs contain choline, a little-known but essential nutrient for healthy brain function. Eggs are also a very good source of inexpensive, high quality protein. The protein in eggs keeps you full for longer and can help with weight-loss goals. Antioxidants found in eggs can reduce the risk of age-related eye disorders.

So “kosua ne m3ko” is undoubtedly a healthy snack you can fix yourself in no time. Remember, the secret of this snack is the Pepper Sauce. For the sauce, you need any fresh pepper of your choice, garlic, onions and salt to taste. Grind the pepper, onions, and garlic until it turns into a paste. You can add tomatoes if you don’t want the sauce too hot. Add salt to taste. Garnish with loads of sliced onions. Boil eggs for a few minutes – probably about 10 minutes till hard. Remove the eggshells and cut the egg in half and put the pepper sauce in the middle. You are done. Eat one ‘Kosua ne Meko‘ and you would love to eat more any day.
