Illegal Mining or Galamsey continues to pose grave danger to aquatic life. Though there have been several efforts by successive governments to stop the illegal operations, the act still persists. GBC’s Central Regional Correspondent Kofi Sakyiamah Pobi visited some river bodies in the Central Region and reports that activities of illegal miners are hampering the work of the Ghana Water Company in the Region. He has come through with the following feature on the impact of galamsey in the Central Region and how it can be curtailed.
