48 persons drowned since January this year- Police

A total of 48 persons have drowned in the sea and water bodies from January to date this year as against the previous year.
A statement from the Pathology Department of the Ghana Police Hospital and signed by Head of Public Relations of the hospital DSP Yaw Nketia said out of the 48 recorded cases, 10 were females.
On road accident, the statement said the hospital recorded 184 fatalities from January to date as against 193 last year.
Thirteen of such pedestrian knock-down victims could not be identified.
The statement has asked members of the public to always have in possession a form of identification card to help in easy tracing in case of emergencies.
