It has come to light that audit recommendations are mostly not implemented.
A survey conducted by Accountable Democratic Institutions and Systems Strengthening Project (ADDIS) in 50 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) on audit recommendations had a few of them implementing recommendations between 2009 – 2013.
At a forum to disseminate the report, the Executive Director of Ghana Integrity Initiative, Linda Ofori-Kwafo noted that safeguarding the public purse is critical if the country is to develop without aid.
