The Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee probing the leaked audio regarding the plot to oust the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Samuel Atta Akyea, has barred members of the Police Management Board (POMAB) from sitting through the in-camera proceedings which took place at the Parliament House today, Tuesday, 10th October 2023.

Members of POMAB had accompanied their boss (IGP) to the hearing as they did when he first appeared before the committee.

However, there was a turn of events at the in-camera hearing today, when Mr. Atta Akyea asked members of POMAB to leave before the actual hearing began.

This turn of events left the officers no option but to wait for the IGP in one of the many conference rooms at the Speaker’s Block.

According to sources at the committee, the chairman said he was uncomfortable with the presence of the officers.
