Author and Chief Executive Officer of VODEC Africa, Daniel Asomani, today officially launched two books, “Beyond the Walls of Africa “and “The Leadership Code”, at a ceremony in Accra, attended by prominent clergy, academics, business leaders, and development professionals.
The launch was chaired by Ing. Felix Astrim, Chairman of FEDEMS Group. Among the distinguished guests present were Rev. Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, internationally renowned evangelist and founder of Worldwide Miracle Outreach; Evangelist Stephen Boakye; Apostle Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua, Vice-Chancellor of Pentecost University; Apostle Dr. Brigadier General Kumi Woode; Sophia Kudzodzi; and Apostle Kingsley Addai, among other dignitaries.
The event also featured his birthday celebration; thus the books were gifts to himself.
In his address, Daniel Asomani shared the inspiration behind the books and reflected on his personal leadership journey.
“Growing up, I thought leadership was for the elect. I thought leadership belonged to specific people. It felt like a language I could never speak,” he said.
He explained that through studying history and observing great leaders, he came to understand that “leadership is a code to be learned, not a birthright.”
Describing the writing of the books as a divine assignment, Asomani said, “This was not my choice alone, but something ordained by God. These books are meant for my generation in a time such as this.”
According to the author, “The Leadership Code”reveals four pillars that separate fleeting success from lasting impact: self-awareness, character, competence, and purpose.
Speaking about “Beyond the Walls of Africa”, he described the book as a call for Africans to break free from barriers that have constrained the continent’s growth and development.
“It is a clarion call to transcend the walls that confine us; colonial borders, neocolonialism, exploitation, negative stereotypes, and the walls we have built in our own minds,” he stated.
He concluded with a passionate call to action, declaring: “I have a dream for Africa. This is not a dream for tomorrow but a dream for today. The work begins now. You will, you must, and you shall.”
The event also featured a testimony from Yvonne Nuoriyee, Chief Executive Officer of “Edible Treats” and winner of the Ideas Challenge organized by VODEC Africa, through which she received GH¢30,000 in business capital support.
“He believed in the youth of Ghana,” she said. “My business is thriving because of this support. It is important for us to support him.”
A major highlight of the launch was a panel discussion that examined the themes of leadership, development, and Africa’s future as presented in the two books.
Apostle Prof. Christian Tsekpoe, renowned theological scholar and thought leader, commended the author for his contribution to leadership discourse.
“I agree with the assertion that Africa is not poor,” he said. “I commend Daniel for this wonderful work. This book tells us that leadership is a code that needs to be cracked, and this book cracks it.”
Business leader and entrepreneur George Twumasi expressed admiration for the accomplishment of the young author.
“I believe that the Lord has placed something very powerful in him,” he remarked. “I am completely shocked that a 30-year-old man has written this book.”
Offering a different perspective, Dr. Elvis Botah, academic and development expert, challenged the view that Africa is not poor.
“The illusion is that Africa is not poor, but the reality is that Africa is poor. The circumstances of Africa today are largely a leadership issue,” he said.
Also contributing to the discussion, Tamera Naa Ayikaikor Ankrah, Global English Language and Education Specialist with the British Council, UK, emphasized the need for Africa to prioritize and effectively harness its abundant resources to drive sustainable development and prosperity.
The first two copies of the book were purchased at 50,000 Ghana cedis each.
The launch concluded with renewed calls for purposeful leadership, youth empowerment, and collective action toward Africa’s transformation, themes that form the foundation of both “The Leadership Code” and “Beyond the Walls of Africa”.
