A Delta Air Lines flight arriving from Minneapolis experienced a harrowing crash upon landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday afternoon. The aircraft flipped over on the runway, resulting in injuries to 15 people. Among the injured, a child and two adults are in critical condition, prompting immediate concern and a swift emergency response.

Authorities confirmed that all 80 passengers and crew members aboard the flight have been accounted for and safely evacuated. Dramatic video footage circulating online depicted the plane inverted on the snow-covered tarmac, with passengers disembarking as firefighters worked to secure the scene. One of the plane’s wings appeared to be missing.

The incident prompted an immediate ground stop at Toronto Pearson, Canada’s busiest airport, with inbound flights being diverted or placed on hold.

Canada’s Transport Minister, Anita Anand, acknowledged the “serious incident” and stated that she is closely monitoring the situation.

While the precise cause of the crash remains under investigation, preliminary reports suggest that wintry conditions may have been a contributing factor. The airport had been experiencing weather-related delays throughout the day. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has initiated a comprehensive investigation to determine the sequence of events leading to the accident.

Peel Regional Police are assisting with the emergency response, deferring all inquiries to airport authorities. The focus remains on providing medical assistance to the injured and ensuring the safety of all those affected by this incident.
