Elyashadh Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization, has held a reception for more than 400 widows from Dansoman, Agege, Mamponse all in Accra.
The widows received items including rice, cooking oil and tomato paste.
Executive Director of the NGO, Robert Adjei said the initiative is aimed at putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged in society especially widows to give them a feel of the Christmas season.

Mr Adjei said the project which started in 2014, apart from the annual giveaways to the widows, has also supported some orphans through school. He indicated that some of the widows had lost their breadwinners for about ten years and their livelihood has been quite challenging.
He appealed to other well-meaning Ghanaians to support this noble gesture.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the NGO.

Elyashadh Foundation is appealing to individuals and institutions to help widows and the vulnerable in society.
